The senator representing Abia Central senatorial zone at the National Assembly, Austin Akobundu, has proposed to build one skills acquisition centre in each of the six local government areas of the district.

Akobundu stated this after delivering 2,000 bags of fertilizers to constituents at his residence in Oloko in Ikwuanno local government area.

He advised leaders at all levels to focus on delivering their campaign promises to justify the confidence reposed in them.

According to the Senate deputy chairman, National Planning and Economic Affairs, doing so would go a long way to check many of the challenges facing the country.

The Peoples Democratic Party senator further argued that it is his belief in paying back to the constituency that had been driving his vision for the district.

He explained that since his inauguration into the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly last November, he had engaged in many programmes to better the lives of the people and to develop the district.

The retired Army colonel charged his legislative coordinators and the party leaders to ensure that the fertilizers reached the farmers.

Responding, deputy chairman, Senator Akobundu Advisory Council, Sam Njoku, the PDP chairman for Osisioma Ngwa local government, Ihezuoke Ufomba, and the women coordinator of Akobundu’s foundation, Eziaku Alaribe, lauded him for his interventions.
