The Kwara State government has purchased 100 electric motorcycles to aid public transportation.

The government‘s initiative aims to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal on commuters and transporters in the state.

The state commissioner of Works and Transports, AbdulQowiy Olododo, who disclosed this yesterday during a media parley in Ilorin, the state capital, said the government is doing its best to bring succour to the masses.

Olododo said the state is awaiting the delivery of 100 electric motorcycles, which it purchased after commissioning a compressed natural gas (CNG) conversion workshop and gas station in Ilorin.

“Kwara State has been able to commission a CNG conversion workshop and gas station, in line with the presidential initiative on CNG to mitigate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal.

“His Excellency, through the Ministry, has procured 100 electric motorcycles, which the ministry is awaiting delivery in the coming days,“ the commissioner said.
