Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has assured the state’s residents that the stakeholders’ submissions at the meetings will be reflected in the 2025 budget.

Makinde, who spoke at the closing ceremony of the sixth zonal stakeholders’ consultative engagement in the Ibarapa zone, which was held across the state’s six geopolitical zones, noted that his administration had supported farmers across the state’s 33 local government areas with farm inputs and fertiliser for improved farm yields during the planting season.

The governor, represented by the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters, Ademola Ojo, said that the government was not relenting in its efforts to make farming more profitable for farmers in the state.

He called on farmers who had yet to identify with a recognised farmers’ association to do so, promising them more benefits and support.

The governor emphasised that everyone should refrain from playing politics of any form with education for the sector’s development.

He assured the people of the zone that successful applicants in the ongoing teacher recruitment would eventually be employed, adding that his administration would not compromise standards in the recruitment process.

Makinde reiterated his administration’s commitment to the security of lives and property while admonishing the state residents to assist the government and security agencies with useful information about security challenges in their localities so that security personnel can act accordingly.

Earlier, Prof Musibau Babatunde, commissioner for budget and economic planning, appreciated the people of the zone for their cooperation and understanding.
