Nigeria and Russia will clash in a friendly in 2025. Russian Football has been restricted to fewer games due to the ban imposed on the country following its invasion of Ukraine.
Russian journalist Bartlomiej Banasiew wrote on his X @Babanasiewicz that Nigeria’s match organiser, Jairo Pachon, has confirmed that the game will come up in 2025.
“Our representatives are working with RFU to organize a friendly match between the Nigeria national team and the Russia national team in 2025. “ This match is possible”, he said.
“This match is about as good as it gets,” Pachon was quoted by Banasiew.
The match is expected to be played within the FIFA window.The venue is also expected to be sorted by the organisers.
It will be the first meeting between Nigeria and Russia at senior level.
