Yoruba Community To Construct Palace, Others In Kano

The Sarki of the Yoruba Community in Kano, Alhaji Murtala Alimi Otisese (Adetimirin I), has announced fundraising for the construction of a N500million community palace in the state.

The funds realised would also be used to construct residential quarters for staff, a school for the less privileged, and a multi-purpose hall that will serve as a Community Centre and revenue-generating space for the Palace administration.

This was made known in a statement signed by Prince Zakariyau AbdulRasheed Rotimi, the palace secretary in Kano.

Oba Murtala stated that “To achieve the ambitious fundraising target of N500 million, the committee comprises five members, with Chief Akande Omotayo Kazeem, appointed as the chairperson, and Chief Femi Smith Johnson serving as his assistant.”

According to him, “This project will not only enhance the Palace’s operations but will also significantly contribute to the welfare of our people.

“To truly serve our community, we must adapt and modernize our facilities and offerings” the Sarkin Yarbawan Kano, Oba Murtala stated.

He said the committee would work diligently to organise events and programmes aimed at raising the necessary funds in a timely manner, ensuring the project’s swift commencement.

“We are determined to mobilise support from our community and beyond, engaging everyone in this noble cause.
