The Gbegande of Ososaland, Oba Mojeed Adetoye Alatishe, has expressed his satisfaction over the pivotal roles being played by the community’s indigenes and non-indigenes, as reflected in their huge investments, which have led to the economic growth and development of the community.

The monarch, who spoke at the 2024 edition of the Ososa Omoroyo Day celebration held in Ososa town, Ogun State, applauded the indigenes who came from all walks of life to witness the celebration and encouraged them to continue coming back home to contribute to the town’s economic growth.

He said, “Since last December, Ososa has witnessed significant economic progress, thanks to investments from indigenes and non-indigenes. In healthcare, the Ososa sons and daughters of the UK/Ireland have donated a modern Antenatal clinic, complementing the medical porta cabin that Rotary International of Lagos provided.

“I also commend the financial members of OSND of the UK for this laudable structure and their annual donation of 5000 exercise books, not forgetting Hon Barrister Oluwafemi Ogunbanwo’s donation of a 500kv transformer, which is believed to have put an end to the electricity crisis in Osalakoye, Idomowo Oke-Esin, Oke-Ala and part of Ijoku areas of Ososa town.’’

Chief Abayomi Idowu Adewunmi, chairman of the Omoroyo Day Planning Committee, rejoiced with all the town’s sons and daughters for witnessing this year’s edition of Omoroyo Day, which, according to him, is holding back to back with Omoroyo Day 2023 after 31 years of lacunae.

He recalled last year’s theme was “Building Consensus,” which encouraged citizens to work together, build together, and achieve together.

He highlighted this year’s theme, “Create Hope in yourself, community, and the world,” saying the theme is inspirational and helps the community focus on its future needs.

The Planning Committee Chairman thanked the entire committee membership for their support and tireless efforts, saying the event was a resounding success, filled with excitement, cultural displays, traditional performances, peer interactions, and emotional upliftment.

According to him, the celebration showcased the rich heritage and traditions of the Ososa community, featuring cultural dances, traditional drumming, and performances by local artists. He added that the atmosphere was electrified, with attendees immersed in joy and connection.

‘’The Ososa Omoroyo Day celebration is a testament to the community’s commitment to preserving their cultural identity and promoting unity amongst its people,’’ he said.
