The Lagos men’s and women’s teams are the champions of the 2025 national secondary school flag football competition.

The teams defeated Akwa Ibom sides in both categories in the finals held at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar.

Flag football is a sport synonymous with American football. However, it is a non-contact game where players wear flags on their belts and tackle each other by pulling off their flags.

Lagos edged out Akwa Ibom in a tight game in the women’s final, winning 14–12. In the men’s final, Lagos defeated Akwa Ibom convincingly with a score of 22–12, reclaiming the championship from the defending champions.
