UBEC Engages SUBEB Chairmen To Strengthen Quality Basic Education Delivery

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) management team, led by the Executive Secretary, Aisha Garba, has engagedĀ  with the Executive Chairmen of the State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs) from across the 36 States of Nigeria.

The meeting, themed ā€œStrengthening Partnerships for Quality Basic Education Delivery in Nigeria,ā€ focused on reinforcing collaboration between federal, state, and local government agencies to enhance access and quality of basic education in Nigeria.

In her keynote address, the Executive Secretary, Aisha Garba, reaffirmed her commitment to advancing progress in basic education in alignment with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI).

She emphasised the critical need for strengthened collaboration between UBEC, SUBEBs, and the State Ministries of Education to foster a more impactful, efficient and functional basic education system.

Highlighting her priorities, Aisha Garba underscored the need for synergy and collaborative partnerships. She called on all stakeholders to actively participate in the workshop sessions aimed at developing actionable strategies that will drive sustainable improvements in Nigeria’s basic education sector.

The meeting also served as a platform for robust discussions on policy implementation, funding strategies, and innovative solutions to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.

Participants shared insights on best practices and explored ways to streamline operational frameworks for more effective service delivery at the grassroots level.

The UBEC management team and SUBEB Chairmen reaffirmed their commitment to working together to achieve the shared goal of transforming Nigeria’s basic education system.

The resolutions from the meeting will inform future policies and initiatives aimed at bridging educational gaps and fostering inclusive learning environments nationwide.
