He highlighted the need for a structured and well-monitored system where teacher education, certification, and continuous professional development align with international best practices. His administration, he assured, would focus on improving teacher quality, enforcing discipline, fostering professionalism, and ensuring that educators receive the recognition and rewards they deserve.

He promised to work with the Federal Ministry of Education to make sure every teacher in Nigeria is registered with TRCN with the use of dedicated portal. He further emphasised the need to bring proprietors of private schools on board

Furthermore, he stressed that under his leadership as Board Chairman, TRCN would not only regulate the teaching profession but also work towards elevating its status to match global standards. This includes strengthening teacher training programmes, implementing policies that promote excellence, and ensuring that only qualified and competent individuals are allowed to practice as teachers in Nigeria.

In her welcome remarks, Dr. Stella-Maria Nwokeocha, the Acting Registrar/Chief Executive of TRCN, expressed confidence in the leadership of the new chairman. She assured him of the full cooperation and support of the council’s staff, emphasising their commitment to ensuring the successful execution of his policies and directives.

She further reiterated that TRCN remained steadfast in its mission to uphold the integrity of the teaching profession, working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to drive positive reforms in Nigeria’s education sector.
