Ismael Saraki gave Tornadoes the lead in the 28th minute, and although Ahmadu Liman equalised for the hosts just four minutes later, Daniel Akanbek sealed the visitors’ victory with a decisive goal 14 minutes from time.

In other NPFL matches played yesterday, the already crowned champions Remo Stars convincingly defeated Ikorodu City 4-1 at home. Bendel Insurance narrowly overcame the Emmanuel Amukike-led Heartland with a 1-0 win, while Plateau United triumphed over the already relegated Lobi Stars with a score of 2-1. Nasarawa United also claimed a 2-1 victory over former champions Enyimba, and Kwara United secured a 3-1 win against Rivers United. Rangers thrashed Katsina United 4-0, while Kano Pillars defeated 3SC 3-1. Abia Warriors won 2-1 against El-Kanemi, and Akwa United beat Bayelsa United 2-0.

In Umuahia, Abia Warriors celebrated a 2-1 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors.

Meanwhile, despite their 3-1 loss to Kwara United, Rivers United have confirmed their place in continental competition for the next season. Abia Warriors have also secured their spot on the continent. However, both teams will have to wait until the final day of the season to determine their positions on the league table.
