Deputy majority leader of the Abia State House of Assembly, Mathias Umeh, has greeted the Muslim community in Umunneochi constituency on the occasion of the Eid-al-Adha celebration.
The member representing the constituency in the House delivered the message yesterday while speaking with LEADERSHIP Sunday in Umuahia, the state capital, praying for a peaceful celebration.
He urged members of the community to not only engage themselves in celebrating the occasion, but to also use it to pray for the good and development of the constituency in particular and the state at large.
He reminded them of the need for the proper management, sanitary condition and security in and around the Lokpanta Cattle Market, where majority live and transact businesses.
“This market which is the largest of its kind in the state is very strategic to the development of the constituency and the state hence the need for its protection and security,” he said.
He underscored the need for harmony, peace, cooperation and unity among residents of the constituency irrespective of their differences to ensure the development of the constituency.
The lawmaker also used the opportunity to solicite their support for the Alex Otti-led administration in the state to sustain its unprecedented tempo of development and transformation.
