Computerised Vehicle Inspection: KDSG Records Another Milestone

The Malam Nasir El-Rufai administration has recorded another milestone as it commissioned the first computerized vehicle inspection and testing centre in the north, located at Mando area of the state capital.

The facility which was built for the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA), promises to ease the duties of marshals, public and private vehicle owners as well as create about 50 jobs.

Speaking at the commissioning, Governor Nasir El-Rufai noted that the centre was built by a businessman who although knows him and Distinguished Senator Uba Sani nonetheless got the contract on merit.

‘’In Kaduna state, every Nigerian that is qualified for something can get it without knowing anybody. And this is what Nigeria as whole should be. Progress in this country should not depend on who you know. It should depend on what you should do and you can do well.

According to El-Rufai, ‘’Kaduna State Government believes that anything that the private sector can do better, we encourage them, we enable them, we allow them to do it. This is what we have been trying to do in the last seven years.’’

‘’Any function, whether it is legal, regulatory or executive function, that we believe can be better done by the private sector, we encourage the private sector to take over and we provide the enabling environment for them to do so and this is one of them.

‘’We encourage KASTLEA to do more of these partnerships. We are happy that at least 50 jobs will be created from this investment and we hope that this is the first step in many more of such partnerships,’’ the governor advised.
