Arsenal Football Club have been handed difficult opening fixtures for the 2025/2026 Premier League season, as announced on their official website yesterday.

The Gunners will commence their campaign with a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Sunday, August 17. This marks the first time since the 2022/23 season that Arsenal will begin their season away from home, having previously secured a 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Following the clash with United, Arsenal will host newly promoted Leeds United for their first match at the Emirates Stadium. This will be followed by an away fixture against Liverpool on August 30.

After the first international break of the season, Arsenal will enjoy consecutive home matches against Nottingham Forest and Manchester City, before concluding September with a trip to Newcastle United.

The October schedule presents an all-London affair, with matches against West Ham United, Fulham, and Crystal Palace. In November, Mikel Arteta’s side will face back-to-back away games against promoted teams Burnley and Sunderland, before hosting their first north London derby of the season on November 22, where they are set to take on Europa League champions Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal will be hoping that this season brings a change in fortune as they strive for the Premier League title, having finished as runners-up in the last three campaigns, missing out to Manchester City in both the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 seasons, and to Liverpool in 2024/2025.

Last season saw Arsenal reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2009. After an impressive quarter-final triumph over Real Madrid, they were eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain, who ultimately claimed the title with a resounding 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the final.
