According to Afolabi Pearse, a tech entrepreneur, the Post-Covid era had opened up opportunities for subscribers to monetize their social media handles and allow interested clients to make use of it for an affordable fee. Streaming Apps like Zoom, YouTube, Google Meet and even X (Twitter), Facebook and Instagram live can be used to make extra income for those who have many followers and the targeted audience to be reached.

Pearse noted that these opportunities are available to young men and women that understand how it works.

Monetizing Your Social Media Handle

Knowledge is power and if one understands how streaming application works, the person can make extra income from hosting live streaming programs like church or faith based events or corporate launches as this is what instragram influencers leverage on .

Tech specialist Mr. Opeyemi Adedoyin shared valuable insights on how to succeed in hosting live programs and earning extra income through streaming apps. He emphasized the importance of understanding both the business model and the opportunities it presents. According to him, “It’s crucial to develop a strategy that attracts viewers and to offer incentives that make your services stand out.”

Making money on live streaming apps also has its challenges, which includes experiencing technical glitches, distractions, piracy and security concerns, competition. To maintain a strong online presence and attract viewers, a tech analyst, Joshua Adebayo said that one needs to consistently create high-quality content, which can be time-consuming and demanding.

Live streaming offers a unique platform for creators to connect with their audience, build a community and earn money. With the rise of social media and live streaming apps, it’s now possible for anyone to become a content creator and monetize their live streams.

 

But how much can someone who uses live streaming earn per month? Mr Adedoyin stated that there is no fixed amount. “What is important is to be willing to offer your services close to free. Maintain your clients and give quality services and grow your customers over time and they will pay for your services.

 

“For a live zoom meeting, a client can pay 5000 per session and if you have like five sessions in a week it automatically is N25,000 and if you stay consistent in having five clients from Monday to Sunday for a month, that earns you cool N100,000. That is for uninterrupted and unlimited live zoom streaming as there is free zoom streaming for just only forty minutes. A social media influence will make more using live instagram programmes or launch, You Tube live and others so it is a veritable opportunities and extra income for those who can hone it and grow your clientele base,” he added.

 

According to a report, an influencer with 1 million followers is considered a mega-influencer, and the earning potential per sponsored post ranges from $5,000 to $25,000 or even more. According to Hopper HQ’s Instagram Rich List, most influencers with over a million followers charge between $10,000 and $15,000 per sponsored post. The rate depends on the influencer’s negotiating skills, the collaboration type, and the brands’ budget for an influencer marketing campaign.
