Following a successful primary election, the Zenith Labour Party in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has unanimously affirmed its candidate for the chairmanship position.

Hon. Swani Buba, the party’s senatorial flag bearer in the 2023 election, emerged as the consensus candidate.

With nearly four decades of residency in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Swani Buba is confident in his ability to transform the narrative in the council.

However, Buba has expressed deep concern over the dismal state of primary and secondary education in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He lamented the neglect of these institutions, which he personally attended alongside his siblings during a time when educational standards were higher.

“It’s disheartening to see these same schools deteriorate under successive governments,” Hon. Swani Buba stated.

“The recent 4-month strike by primary school teachers, leaving our children idle at home or forced to attend private schools, is a stark indictment of the current administration’s priorities.”

Hon. Swani Buba pledged to make education a top priority if entrusted with the mandate, recognizing the critical role it plays in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

The ZLP has successfully held its primary elections in the AMAC, Bwari, and Kuje area councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The party had a significant win in the Abia State local government elections, securing 15 out of 17 chairmanship seats.
