The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has temporarily suspended its recruitment application portal following reported technical hitches and security concerns.

In a public announcement on Thursday morning via its verified X handle, the Board announced that the portal, https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, will remain inaccessible until Monday, July 21, 2025.

“As part of efforts to optimise the efficiency of its system, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) announces that the portal has been temporarily suspended,” the statement read.

The Board explained that the move was aimed at accommodating the high volume of applications and ensuring “a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process.”

“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies and are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” said Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (rtd), who signed the announcement.

LEADERSHIP reports that the development followed a series of delays that have marred the recruitment process. Initially scheduled to begin on June 26, the application window was postponed to July 14. However, on the rescheduled date, applicants reported widespread access issues, with the portal experiencing major glitches. Concerns were also raised regarding the security of the platform.

The CDCFIB did not disclose specific details about the nature of the glitches or potential breaches but assured the public of its commitment to fixing the system.
