Nigerian woman, Habibat Salawudeen Ihiovi-Jack, has completed an extraordinary 144-hour Bible reading marathon in a bid to set a new Guinness World Record, drawing admiration for her endurance, discipline and unwavering devotion to Scripture.
The marathon began on June 22, 2026, and saw Habibat spend six consecutive days reading passages from the Bible in what many have described as a remarkable demonstration of faith and perseverance.
Throughout the challenge, supporters followed her journey closely, cheering her on as she pressed through hours of continuous reading to share the Bible’s message with a global audience and inspire others through her act of devotion.
Her feat joins a growing list of Nigerians undertaking endurance challenges that celebrate culture, creativity, knowledge and personal convictions on the world stage. For Habibat, however, the attempt was not just about breaking a record but also about highlighting the transformative power of Scripture and encouraging people to engage more deeply with their faith.
144 hours
Having completed the 144-hour challenge, she now awaits official verification and confirmation from Guinness World Records before a new world record can be formally recognised.
Regardless of the outcome, Habibat’s accomplishment has already resonated with many Nigerians, who have praised her resilience, dedication and commitment to an endeavour that required both physical and spiritual strength.
Congratulations continue to pour in for Habibat Salawudeen Ihiovi-Jack on completing a truly remarkable and inspiring feat.
