Kano Pillars Football Club has signed a one-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Radio France International (RFI) Hausa.
The club’s general manager, Ahmed Musa, and the director and chief coordinator of RFI Hausa in Nigeria, Joseph Penny, signed the MoU yesterday in the Conference Room of the Sani Abacha Stadium, establishing the media outlet as the club’s official partner.
Speaking during the event, Musa described the development as historic, given the massive fan base of the club not only in Kano and Nigeria but across the African continent.
He stated that sponsorships like this would remain historic and serve as a moral boost for both the players and the team.
“RFI is offering far more than we anticipated. They are contributing N5 million in cash, alongside a total support package valued at around N100 million.”
In his remarks, the RFI Chief Coordinator expressed that the partnership aligns with the organisation’s commitment to promoting sports and community engagement throughout Nigeria and beyond.
He noted that the football club, under the leadership of football legend Ahmed Musa, will help propel the club to greater heights, highlighting the necessity to support his visionary leadership.
“This is RFI’s first football sponsorship in history and encompasses full sponsorship of new kits, provision of state-of-the-art media equipment for club communications, and training for Kano Pillars’ media team in professional video production, along with media publishing on RFI Hausa platforms,” he stated.
Leadership previously reported that Musa has pledged to restore the club’s glory, implementing strategies such as seeking sponsorship and reducing dependency on government funding to ensure its success.
