Motorists Seek FG’s Intervention On Kogi Road

Motorists and commuters plying the Lokoja – Ajaokuta – Itobe road in Kogi State have called on the federal government to take urgent steps to fix the failed portions of the road to ameliorate the suffering of users.

The road users while expressing their frustration, said the road which links the FCT and other northern states to the eastern part of the country need urgent reapair.

The condition of the road has worsened as a result of the rains.
Some of the motorists who spoke with our correspondent urged the Federal Ministry of Works to urgently commence repair work on the road.

One of the motorists, Chukudi Felix, traveling from Enugu to Abuja, told LEADERSHIP that sometimes he spent between 30 minutes and one hour on that portion of the road.

“We want the federal and state governments to come to our aid. We know that this is a federal government road, but the state government can intervene,” he said.A commuter who identified herself as Oninye Ike, lamented that their vehicle was on one spot for one and a half hours, and called on the government to provide urgent intervention.
