Katsina Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, who represented the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, at a press conference on Friday, praised the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his continuous support, which has significantly strengthened the state’s crime-fighting operations.

According to him, the arrested suspects include 14 suspected armed robbers, 22 murder/culpable homicide suspects, 25 rape, 20 vandalism, 8 fraud, 26 illicit drug peddling suspects alongside 194 others apprehended for other offences.

DSP Aliyu also disclosed that the Command foiled several bandit attacks within the period under review.

He listed the items recovered during the operations to include 199 rustled animals (161 cows and 68 sheep), three stolen vehicles, two suspected stolen motorcycles, large quantities of cannabis and other illicit drugs, as well as vandalised armoured cables.

DSP Aliyu commended the Katsina State Government and residents for their cooperation, noting that the successes would not have been possible without public support.

He called for sustained collaboration, urging citizens to continue reporting suspicious activities through the command’s emergency lines: 0815697777722, 0902220969033, and 07072722539.

“The Katsina State Police Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across the state,” he assured.
