Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has expressed sadness over the passing away of an assistant comptroller-general of Immigration, Mr. Dada Joseph Olutayo.

He described his sudden death as a colossal loss to the state.

Governor Adeleke said the demise of Dada was a major loss, particularly to the Immigration Service, where his towering service contributed to a safe and secure border, saying his death has denied Osun and Nigeria as a whole the service of a dedicated officer.

The governor commiserated with the deceased’s immediate family, the Michael Dada Ogunremi family in Ilesa, the Nigerian Immigration Service, and everyone touched by the highly decorated officer’s passing.

“I am disheartened to hear about the passing of Mr. Dada Joseph Olutayo, an Assistant Comptroller-General of Immigration. While he was alive, Mr. Dada was a dedicated officer who showed exemplary patriotism in his line of work,” Governor Adeleke said in a condolence message.

“On behalf of the good people of Osun State, I convey my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the Michael Dada Ogunremi family in Ilesa, the Nigeria Immigration Service and everyone touched by this unfortunate loss.

“As much as his passing represents a huge loss, I ask that we should be consoled by the life of impacts that defined Mr. Dada and be persuaded by the legacy of remarkable contributions to national security that his short time here reflects.’’
