Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the protection of citizens and the welfare and health of their host communities.
He stated this at the Defence Headquarters medical outreach and palliative distribution to Kpaduma community, Asokoro, in Abuja, to mark the World Humanitarian Day celebration.

The CDS, who was represented by the Chief of Defence Civil Military Relations (CDCMR), Rear Admiral Olusanya Bankole, said humanity is strongest when we stand together.

“This commemoration holds a special meaning for us at the Defence Headquarters. As members of the Armed Forces, we are not only entrusted with the defence of our nation, but also with the duty of building trust, goodwill and mutual support with the communities that host and surround us. Today’s activities, the distribution of palliatives and the medical outreach, are small but sincere expressions of our gratitude to the Kpaduma community for your friendship and support over the years,” he said.

According to the CDS, the humanitarian day provides a moment to reflect on our collective responsibility to care for the vulnerable and to support those in need.

“The Armed Forces remain committed to working hand in hand with communities, civil society and humanitarian partners to ensure that no one is left behind.
