A total of 1,000 nomadic children in 20 local government areas of Bauchi State have benefitted from the Nomadic Vacation Courses, designed to expand access to quality education for nomadic communities.

The executive secretary of the Bauchi State Agency for Nomadic Education (BASANE), Alhaji Ahmad Abdullahi Bello, made this known during a sendforth yesterday at Government Girls Secondary School, Yana in Shira local government area.

Bello emphasised the state government’s determination to ensure nomadic children enjoy the same educational opportunities as their peers in both rural and urban areas.

He explained that the vacation program focused mainly on English and Mathematics, core subjects that form the foundation for careers in science, engineering, and social sciences.

He commended parents, traditional leaders, local authorities, and stakeholders for their contributions to the program’s success and praised the enthusiasm and performance of the students, especially the girls.

He further encouraged parents to support their daughters’ education, stressing the need for them to complete schooling and pursue careers that contribute to national development.

The BASANE boss reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to identifying underserved communities in need of nomadic schools and described the programme as a beacon of hope for inclusive education in Bauchi State.
