Yobe PDP, APC Supporters Defect To ADC

A large number of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressive Congress (APC) members in Damagum, Fune local government area of Yobe State have joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The defectors are from the home town of the PDP national chairman, Umar Illiya Damagum. .

LEADERSHIP gathered that membership cards were issued to the defectors who cut across all the 17 local government areas of Yobe State.

Receiving the new entrants, the former minister of Police Affairs and leader of the coalition in the state, Adamu Waziri, lamented the rise in insecurity, inflation, poverty and unemployment in the country.

He said, a lot of industries have collapsed since the inception of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, exposing the people to hardship.

The defection coincided with the inauguration of a new office for ADC in Damagum, which Waziri said was the first to be inaugurated in the state after unveiling the coalition

He said it was a milestone which underscored the party’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the area.

One of the detectors from the PDP, Bah-Mai Algarno, expressed happiness for joining the coalition ahead of 2027 general elections.

Algarno called on the teeming youths in Fune local government, Yobe and Nigeria at large to join ADC for the interest of the people.
