The estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, May Yul-Edochie, also known as Queen May, has threatened to drag her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, to court over allegations of cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and defamation.

Queen May also demanded N1 billion from Ugwuonye as compensation for the damage done to her image in a cease-and-desist notice written on her behalf by her new lawyer at Graylaw Partners.

She claimed that the lawyer and a US-based woman, Yinka Theisen, made several damaging online posts about her on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and Facebook.

Queen May, also demanding N500 million financial compensation from Theisen, asserted that their posts have harmed her reputation and business interests.

In two pre-action letters addressed separately to Ugwuonye and Theisen, her lawyers demanded that they cease these publications, withdraw any existing posts, issue a public apology, and publish a retraction on all platforms where the statements were made.

Her lawyers further alleged that Ugwuonye has acted unprofessionally in his previous dealings with her, including mishandling confidential information.

They warned that his actions have exacerbated the situation and subjected her to further harm.

The letter, directed at Theisen, accuses her of amplifying damaging narratives online and encouraging others to spread them.

The legal team stated that if she fails to comply with these demands, Queen May will have no choice but to initiate civil and criminal proceedings to protect her rights and reputation.

Both letters set a 48-hour deadline for compliance with the demands.

The legal team stated, “The publications are malicious, injurious, and unacceptable. Our client has suffered severe and irreparable harm, and she will not tolerate this misconduct.”
