The final match saw Olukayode FC emerge victorious, securing a hard-fought 1-0 win over Shine F.A. Despite facing adversity with a missed penalty and the challenge of playing more than 60 minutes with ten men following a red card, Olukayode FC demonstrated remarkable determination and skill to claim the title.

The 2025 edition of the tournament was notable for its dramatic shifts in fortune, with previous champions eliminated earlier than expected, allowing a new generation of teams to light up the competition. Signature FC secured third place, further exemplifying the tournament’s commitment to showcasing burgeoning talents.

In a heartfelt address, Mr. Olaniboji Mathew, the President and CEO of DOFT, expressed his appreciation for the enthusiastic support from fans and highlighted the essential contributions of sponsors, particularly the Betja Foundation. He reassured attendees that the tournament would continue to be a vital platform for the development of gifted young athletes in the region.

With cash prizes exceeding N1.3 million and an entertainment lineup featuring captivating cultural and musical performances, DOFT 2025 has set a new standard for sporting events in Ondo State. Looking ahead, Mathew promised an even more exhilarating experience for participants and fans alike in 2026, under his steadfast leadership.
