Yobe PHC Board Hosts 2025 Biannual Review To Strengthen Healthcare Delivery

The Yobe State Primary Healthcare Board (YSPHCB), in collaboration with UNICEF, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), and the Dangote Foundation, convened its 2025 Biannual Technical Performance Review Meeting at the Desert Multi-Purpose Hall in Damaturu.

A statement issued by the Information Officer of the Board, Adamu Saidu Abba

Said the high-level meeting brought together Directors of Primary Healthcare and Local Government Area (LGA) teams to assess program performance, evaluate progress against key milestones, and chart a course for improved service delivery across the state.

Declaring the meeting open, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Babagana Kundi Machina, represented by Dr. Umar Chiroma, Director of Immunization and Disease Control, urged LGA teams to intensify efforts in providing accessible and quality primary healthcare services stressing that the importance of data-driven strategies and accountability in achieving better health outcomes.

The review session featured detailed presentations on program performance at the LGA level, as well as strategic resolutions and recommendations.

Dr. Chiroma led discussions on implementation challenges and proposed actionable steps forward.

In his opening remarks, Director of Community and Family Health, Ibrahim Maikasuwa, FSI, welcomed participants and commended development partners for their continued support.

Representatives from UNICEF, WHO, BMGF, SOLINA, CHAI, TA Connect, Lafiya UK, and the Chigari Foundation delivered goodwill messages, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening Yobe’s healthcare system.
