The Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle and senior staff postings in the State’s civil service.
The development was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa.
According to the directive, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi, has been redeployed to head the Ministry of Transport. Similarly, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Barrister Mustapha Nuruddeen Muhammad, will now serve as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Environment.
The statement further noted that the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, who had been overseeing the Ministry of Transport in an acting capacity, will now remain at his substantive portfolio.
“The Governor directed that all officials affected by the reassignments to formally hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior official of the ministry.
“The handing-over and taking-over exercise is to be completed immediately, with effect from tomorrow Tuesday, September 23, 2025, before close of business,” the statement partly read.
