Renew Your Particulars, Taraba Agency Urges Drivers, Others

Taraba State Internal Revenue Service (TIRS) has urged private and commercial drivers to renew their particulars to avoid checks that could delay their movement on the highway.

The executive chairman of the TIRS, Brig-Gen. Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa (rtd), made the call during the Customer Service Week programme in Jalingo, organised by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Taraba State Command.

He appealed to cars and  tricycles’ drivers and motorcycle riders to ensure prompt registration of their vehicles , stating that, a joint task force has been constituted in this regard.

The secretary of the service, Mark M. Ishaku, who represented Gen. Faransa revealed that, the service will soon embark on enforcement exercise to ensure compliance with the vehicle registration regulations.

He, then emphasized the importance of motorists obtaining their particulars in line with the provisions of the law.

The TSIRS chairman further reminded participants that revenue collection in Taraba State has been fully automated, and urged the public to cooperate with revenue officers in embracing the system.

He explained that, improved revenue generation is essential for the state to achieve infrastructural development, agricultural transformation, quality education, and enhanced staff welfare, among other government priorities.

‎Gen. Faransa also charged FRSC to ensure timely production and availability of number plates for motorcycles, tricycles, and vehicles in the state.

The event had in attendance heads of security agencies, representatives of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), business leaders, and NYSC members,
