Fune local government chairman in Yobe State, Hon Alhaji Baba Goni Bade, has commended the people of Fune for supporting and cooperating with the health personnel that carried out immunisation exercise against child killer diseases in the area.
The chairman gave the commendation yesterday while assessing the ongoing immunisation exercise across the local government.
He said it was the responsibility of all and sundry to cater for the health needs of the people, expressing appreciation to the way and manner the people cooperated with the health examiners in the area during the exercise.
The chairman also noted that “if health is wealth, then prevention is better than cure, urge parents to present their wards inorder to avoid the diseases in the communities”.
According to him, “As such, preventing child killer disease becomes necessary to all and sundry in the society not only the government,” he said.
He called on people to pray for peace and progress of the local government as well as the state, and Nigeria at large.
Baba Goni commended the health personnel handling the exercise for their efforts, describing them as “life-savers.”
He also emphasised the importance of continued efforts to eliminate the disease from communities.
He called on the traditional rulers to remain committed to routine immunization and other pressing health challenges.
