Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has urged the newly appointed emirs to work in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to ensure unity and peace in their domains.
The governor said this over the weekend when he visited the palaces of emirs of Bununu and Duguri respectively.
He assured the emirs of his administration’s continued support for traditional institutions in promoting peace and grassroots development across the state.
The governor commended traditional institution for their contributions to stability and unity, emphasising that the government will continue to partner with them to enhance community development and cultural preservation.
In their remarks, the emirs of Bununu, Alh. Jibrin Hassan and Duguri, Alh. Adamu Mohammed, expressed appreciation to the governor for the visits and his support to the traditional institution.
It would be recalled that about four days ago, Bauchi government approved the appointment of 14 emirs, over 100 district heads and two chiefdoms in the state. All the new emirs were turbaned but have not received their staff of office yet.
