The Yobe State government has approved the construction of nine roads covering 74.5km to improve transportation and delivery of goods and services across the state.
A statement issued by the permanent secretary, Ministry of Works, Abdullahi Musa Shehu, said the ministry had already published a tender for the bidding of the projects.
“The ministry, therefore invites all experienced and competent bidders/vendors with relevant experience to submit Technical and Financial Bids for the projects” the statement said.
The projects include 22.5km asphalt road from Fika -Maluri, 18km asphalt road from Bukarti-Toshia, 13km asphalt road from Jajimaji-Karasuwa and 4km asphalt road from Nguru Highway-Karasuwa Galu.
Others include construction of 5Km asphalt road with 10km concrete drains in Damaturu, 3Km asphalt road with 6km concrete drains in Potiskum and 3Km asphalt road with 6km concrete drains in Nguru.
Similarly, the government would construct a 3Km asphalt road with 6km concrete drains in Gashua of Bade local government area, and 3Km asphalt road with 6km concrete drains in Geidam of Geidam local government area.
The permanent secretary said only competent contractors with the requisite qualification and experience, as certified by the Bureau for Public Procurement, will be considered.
He expressed the commitment of Mai Mala Buni’s administration towards opening up more communities with good roads, to enhance socio-economic development of the benefitting communities and even beyond.
