The Forum of Heads of Government Agencies in Kano State, under the leadership of Turku Bala, has endorsed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a press briefing in Katsina yesterday, Turku Bala who also serves as the chairman of the Kano State Tourism Management Board said the endorsement followed a careful review of the governor’s “remarkable performance and purposeful leadership” within just two and half years in office.
He said the forum, comprising chief executives of all parastatals and agencies in the state, was fully united behind the governor’s re-election bid, describing it as a continuation of the development revolution currently transforming Kano.
“We have resolved as a forum to give 100 percent support to His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, because of his visionary leadership and commitment to the welfare of our people,” Bala stated.
Turku Bala highlighted that one of Governor Yusuf’s most impactful decisions was the declaration of a state of emergency in the education sector.
The move, he said, had already yielded significant results, including Kano’s first-place performance in the recently concluded NECO examinations.
He noted that the government had supplied adequate teaching materials, rehabilitated public schools, and promoted qualified teachers while restoring the rights of those previously denied benefits.
“This renewed focus on education has restored public confidence and improved learning outcomes,” he said.
The forum chairman further commended Governor Yusuf’s administration for settlement of pension arrears, noting that out of ₦41 billion inherited liabilities, ₦27 billion has already been cleared.
