The International Board of the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), through its International Spokesman, Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, has announced the appointment of Amb. Eugine Mahlangu as the Head of Delegation to the United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA) scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, in December.
The UNEA is a critical global platform for addressing pressing environmental issues, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. The assembly brings together governments, civil society, and other stakeholders to shape international environmental policy and drive action.
Amb. Mahlangu’s appointment is a testament to his exceptional leadership and expertise in environmental diplomacy and sustainable development. His experience in international relations and commitment to environmental advocacy make him an ideal representative for IAWPA at this important gathering.
“Amb. Mahlangu’s appointment reflects our commitment to advancing global environmental governance and promoting sustainable development,” said Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, International Spokesman of IAWPA. “His leadership will be instrumental in shaping our delegation’s engagement and contributing to meaningful outcomes at UNEA.”
Recall that Amb. Mahlangu Eugine is the Africa President of IAWPA. He also comes with a rich background, having attended various UN programmes, including the UN Food Summit and UN Habitat Conference, which took place earlier this year in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In a related development, the IAWPA Country Director for Kenya, Amb Dr. Fred Akama Okatch, has assured members of the association as well as the public that the association has kept all machinery in motion to receive all Eminent Peace Ambassadors with the aim of making their stay in Kenya a remarkable one.
Amb. Okatch further asserted that Kenya is the home of hospitality, hence the event in December will for the first time witness when IAWPA will be hosting its own Prayer Summit and at the same time attending UN conference,, adding that the choice of selecting Amb. King Mahlangu as the head of delegation was indeed most appropriate.
As Head of Delegation, Amb. Mahlangu will lead IAWPA’s participation in UNEA, engaging with governments, UN agencies, and other stakeholders to promote environmental cooperation, climate diplomacy, and same time, advance the association’s objectives.
