EPL: Ferdinand Raises Concerns Over Arsenal’s Title Challenge

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is worried about how closely Manchester City have come to Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

The Englishman is also concerned about the Gunners’ injury issues as they pursue a long-awaited title under Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal, who were favoured to claim the title this season after years of disappointment, have dropped points in three of their last five matches. They drew 2-2 with Sunderland, 1-1 with ten-man Chelsea, and lost 2-1 to Aston Villa in their most recent outings.

Currently, the Gunners’ lead at the top of the table has been reduced to just two points ahead of Manchester City.

Although Ferdinand, who won the Premier League title six times with Manchester United, still believes it will be Arsenal’s season, he is concerned about how the Gunners are losing their grip on the title despite being ‘bang average this season’.

“Arsenal are only two points above Man City, who have also been bang average this season, and three points ahead of Aston Villa,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.

“Arsenal fans are so up and down; it’s unbelievable. I still think Arsenal will win the league. I do.

“The injuries are affecting Arsenal, but I still believe they will win the title. I think they will get over the line, and it could be the start of something special for that team.”
