Jigawa Government, Journalists, Others Donate N40m To Nigerian Legion

The Jigawa State Chapter of the Nigerian Legion realised over N40 million in donations during its 2025 Emblem Appeal Fund launch, held at the Dutse Government House.

Speaking at the event, the State Governor, His Excellency Malam Umar Namadi, expressed profound appreciation for the sacrifices made by members of the Legion, including those who paid the supreme price by losing their lives in service to Nigeria.

He noted that their sacrifice would continue to be enshrined in history, and assured that the Jigawa State Government and the general public would continue to appreciate and support them for a better quality of life.

Governor Namadi announced a donation of N10 million from the state government and a personal donation of N2 million. The State Deputy Governor donated N2 million, while the 27 Local Government Areas collectively donated N13 million.

Other notable donations included those from members of the State Executive Council, the Head of Service, Special Advisers and Assistants to the Governor, heads of security agencies, and the Correspondents’ Chapel, which donated N100,000.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion in Jigawa State, Malam Aliyu Mustapha, thanked the state government and the public for the love, compassion, and appreciation consistently shown to Legion members.
