The leadership of the Kebbi State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has commended Governor Nasir Idris’ education reforms, pledging support for his initiatives. Comrade Zaki Sarki, NUT Kebbi chairman, led a tour of 21 Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs) to thank members for their support.
“We appreciate Governor Idris’ investments in education, including N8.9 billion in 120 secondary schools and new ‘mega schools’,” Sarki said. He highlighted key reforms: 2,000 teachers recruited, salaries raised, and retirement age increased; feeding allowance boosted from N350m to N450m; and N2 billion paid for students’ university fees.”
Sarki urged teachers to be law-abiding and dedicated, praising the governor’s priorities and digital transformation. We pray for Allah’s guidance for our leader,” he said.
