Gunmen Friday night in separate attacks killed eight persons in Bong village of Doemak district in Quaan- Pan and Saran Allah communities of Garga in Kanam local government council of Plateau State.
According to eyewitnesses the attackers entered the village while residents were asleep and went house-to-house.
Survivors said the attackers were heavily armed. A native of the local government council, Mr Lawrence Dogari, told our correspondent that several people were injured.
“I can confirm to you that over seven persons have been killed while many others are missing,” he said.
The director of press and publicity in the office of chairman of Qua’an-Pan council, Hon. Christopher Audu Manship confirmed the incident in a press statement.
He said the number of those killed could not be ascertained at press time, adding that the council boss was doing everything possible to ensure that the attackers were brought to book.
