Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, has reiterated that the priority of his administration is to improve the quality and standard of education in the state.
The governor stated this at the maiden matriculation of AB Na’ibi College of Nursing Sciences in Lau local government area on Saturday, where he donated an 18-seater bus to the institution.
He also pledged to commence the construction of a hostel for the college.
He reiterated that education remains a strong pillar of his administration, as the ongoing reforms aimed to ensure quality and maintain standards across educational institutions in Taraba State.
According to him, the state government, in collaboration with the Lau local government area, would rehabilitate the access road leading to the college as part of efforts to support the institution’s growth and vision.
Governor Kefas noted that ongoing reforms are aimed at ensuring quality, standards, and sustainability across educational institutions in the state.
He acknowledged the complementary role of the college to government efforts not only in education but also in strengthening manpower development within the health sector.
Dr Kefas congratulated the newly admitted students and urged them to remain focused and committed to their studies to justify the confidence placed on them by their parents, the institution, and the government.
Earlier, the founder of the college and chairman of its Governing Council, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, expressed optimism that the institution would play a significant role in strengthening Taraba State’s health sector.
He stated that, the college is dedicated to training students with compassion, professionalism, and integrity.
Sheikh Lau commended Governor Kefas for honouring the invitation and described the college as his modest contribution to the development and progress of Taraba State.
