A decampee to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Danko/Wasagu local government area of Kebbi State, Abubakar Dagna’o, has sent an save-my-soul to Governor Nasir Idris to undergo an eye surgery and treat another ailment.

He made the appeal in an interview with LEADERSHIP Weekend in Birnin Kebbi.

“I’ve done all I could to reach the governor but all my efforts proved futile; that is why I am using this medium to convey my plight to him,” he said.

According to him, he defected from the PDP because of the governor and he contributed to the success of the APC in the 2023 general elections in Kebbi State.

Shortly after Governor Idris took over in 2023, Dagna’o disclosed that he was moved by the governor’s benevolence and kind gestures.

“Now, my life is in danger, facing a serious eye problem and another body upset which I need to go for surgery and diagnosis.

“Members of the APC are aware of my contributions to the party in Danko/Wasagu and the level of mobilisation for my teeming supporters who are still loyal to me since 2011 to 2015 when I contested for the state’s assembly seat,” he said.

The ailing member also noted that he and his supporters have turned down offers by the opposition to return to their former party because of the governor.

He further explained that they preferred to remain in the APC in order to contribute their quota towards the success of the governor’s second term bid in 2027.
