Hon. Morufu Tosin Ibrahim, an aspirant for the All Progressives Congress ticket for the House of Representatives in Akoko North Federal Constituency, has congratulated the government and people of Ondo State on its 50th anniversary.
Ibrahim, in a statement issued yesterday, described the Golden Jubilee as a milestone that reflects decades of sacrifice, resilience and steady development since the state’s creation in 1976.
He paid tribute to past military administrators and civilian governors, noting that their combined efforts laid the foundation for progress in education, infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare and security.
According to him, leaders, including Group Capt. Ita Ikpeme, Brig. Sunday Tuoyo, Commodore Michael Otiko, Navy Capt. Mike Akhigbe, Col. Ekundayo Opaleye, Brig. Raji Rasaki, as well as former civilian governors, contributed significantly to making Ondo the Sunshine State.
The APC aspirant also commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for sustaining development projects across the state.
He cited the Akungba–Ikare dual carriageway, cocoa value-chain initiatives, vocational training centres and community security efforts as evidence of continuity in governance.
Ibrahim said the projects showed that governance remained a continuum aimed at improving citizens’ welfare across all parts of the state.
Looking ahead to 2027, he pledged to attract federal presence to Akoko North if elected, with a focus on roads, agricultural processing, youth empowerment and economic diversification.
He urged the residents of Ondo North, Central and South to unite in celebrating the anniversary and to support ongoing development efforts under the Aiyedatiwa administration.
