Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris, underwent a medical check, including laboratory tests and a physical examination, and was found medically fit to perform this year’s hajj obligations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The check-up was prompted by the Saudi Arabian health and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) directives that all intending pilgrims must undergo a medical screening by the health personnel or a medical officer to ascertain that such a person does not have a disease or sickness that the Saudi authorities ban in the hajj exercise.

The governor was screened by the team of medical personnel at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday night alongside the chairman of the state Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA), Faruk Aliyu Yaro Enabo.

Speaking briefly, Governor Nasir Idris praised the chairman of PWA for his quality leadership and experience in hajj operations, noting that his appointment as the agency’s helmsman ensured a successful hajj in the state.

Idris charged the medical team to remain dedicated and committed to their duties and to ensure they screen every intending pilgrim in the state before allowing them to participate in the exercise.
