A total of 1,200 women in the Bagudo local government area of Kebbi State have been empowered by the renowned Dan Malikin Bagudo Foundation, in collaboration with a construction firm, ZBCC Limited.

While presenting the gesture to the beneficiaries at the headquarters of the Bagudo local government area, the wife of the Kebbi State governor, Nafisa Nasir Idris, commended the foundation for initiating the gesture, which, according to her, will alleviate the hardship faced by the beneficiaries in the area.

She said the gesture would go a long way in improving the economic status of the women, while calling on the beneficiaries to utilise what they have been given to enhance their petty trading.

The founder of the organisation, Sirajo Garba Bagudo (Due Process), said the initiative was aimed at improving the socio-economic status of unemployed women in the area and complementing Governor Nasir Idris’s efforts to empower the vulnerable in Kebbi State. Each beneficiary received N50,000 from the Foundation to enhance their businesses.
