Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has sworn in a commissioner, five special advisers and two permanent commissioners.
The development, he said, was part of his administration’s efforts to reinforce governance, deepen institutional efficiency and enhance effective service delivery.
Among those inaugurated yesterday were Abdulkadir Ibrahim, who assumed office as commissioner for education; Halima Ibrahim Dimis, special adviser on Nigeria for Women Project and Women Affairs; retired deputy inspector-general of police Sani Usman Mohammed, appointed as chief security adviser and Hassana Arkila, special adviser on empowerment.
Others were Ahmed Tijjani Baba, special adviser on social reorientation and Sha’awanatu Yusuf, special adviser to the State Action Committee on Gender-based Violence.
In addition, Yusuf Ibrahim and Nasiru Mohammed Yalwa were sworn in for a second tenure as permanent commissioners in the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission.
Addressing the appointees after administering the oath of office, Governor Mohammed reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency, equity, justice and fairness in the conduct of government affairs.
He urged them to be guided strictly by the rule of law and to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism and a strong sense of public duty.
The governor also charged them to foster synergy with relevant stakeholders across ministries, departments, and agencies to accelerate socioeconomic growth, improve public service outcomes and deliver meaningful dividends of democracy to citizens.
On behalf of the new appointees, Ibrahim (commissioner for education) expressed appreciation to Governor Mohammed for the confidence reposed in them.
He pledged their collective loyalty, dedication and commitment to supporting the administration’s vision of inclusive growth and sustainable development in Bauchi State.
