 Biase Council Chair, Ada Egwu Bags Public Service Award

The Executive Chairman of Biase local government council in Cross River State, Hon. (Chief), Ada Charles Egwu, on Wednesday, has been conferred with the prestigious public service award for her outstanding contribution to empowerment of women in Biase Local Government Area and Cross River State at large.

 

The award was conferred on her by the Inter-Party Advisory Council-IPAC, Cross River State Chapter at the 2022 Political Summit, tagged “The People’s Dialogue” held at the Transcorp Hotels, Calabar.

 

Chief Egwu walked to the podium with dignity as the Chairman of IPAC, Comrade Anthony Bissong Attah poured encomiums on her to announce the award.

 

Comrade Attah said: “This award is in recognition of your excellent service delivery to the people of Biase Local Government and your genuine interest in the empowerment of women.

“Before I came on board as IPAC Chairman, I have been following your activities over the years before your emergence as the first elected female Council Chairman of Biase Local Government Council, your massive rural women empowerment and excellent performance in public is commendable.”

 

While receiving the award, Chief Ada Charles Egwu, commended the organizers for their show of patriotism promised not to let her people down.

 

She said: “I am today for this honoured and recognized again for my modest contribution to the growth and development of my local government area and overall service delivery to the people of my dear local government area especially her women.

 

“I am dedicating this award to the good people of Biase Local Government Area for their selfless cooperation and support for the Ayade-led administration’s programs and policies, which has empowered many,” she said.

 

Other Cross Riverians who were honoured includes, Commissioner for Land, Prof. John Inyang, ably represented by the APC House of Assembly Candidate for Yakurr 1 Constituency, Mr. Cyri Omini, Justina Ovat, Joe Obi Bissong among others.

 

Also, in his address, INEC REC, Cross River State, Mr. Yomeri Gabriel Oritsemolebi, who spoken on the role of political stakeholders in the forthcoming general election, seeks for peace among citizens.

 

The event had in attendance the Chairman, of Academic Staff Union of Universities, University of Calabar Chapter, Dr. John Edor and State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress-APC, Barr. Alphonsus Eba was ably represented by his deputy, Eka Williams.

 

APC House of Assembly Candidate for Ogoja State Constituency, Engr. Thomas Aruku, critical stakeholders, and candidates of APC, PDP, and PRP among others were also in attendance.
