The Ogun State Government has visited a Nigerian TikToker, Mirabel (@mirab351), who is currently receiving treatment at a state-owned hospital after alleging she was raped.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Friday, noting that the government has activated a coordinated, multi-sectoral response to the allegation.

According to Adeleye, the TikToker was admitted to a government health facility where she was undergoing comprehensive medical evaluation, clinical procedures and psychosocial support.

She added that Mirabel was responding positively to treatment.

The commissioner explained that the hospital visit was to assess the survivor’s condition and ensure that appropriate medical care and welfare interventions were being properly administered.

“This structured approach is intended to protect the survivor’s welfare while guaranteeing that investigations are conducted professionally, thoroughly and strictly on the basis of verifiable evidence,” Adeleye said.

She stated that detailed examinations and other necessary procedures were being carried out in line with established standards for handling cases of alleged sexual assault, while security agencies conduct parallel investigations.

Adeleye reaffirmed the administration’s zero-tolerance stance on sexual and gender-based violence under Governor Dapo Abiodun, stressing that the welfare, dignity and safety of survivors remain paramount.

“However, while we stand firmly with survivors, we are equally guided by due process. Investigations must be evidence-based, transparent and fair to all parties involved. Whoever is found wanting will face the full wrath of the law,” she added.

The commissioner commended the Ogun State Police Command for its swift response after the case was transferred from Lagos authorities. She also praised the efforts of the medical team at the state facility and the State Ministry of Justice.

She urged the public to avoid speculation or sensational commentary that could jeopardise ongoing investigations, assuring that further updates would be provided as credible findings emerge.

Mirabel had earlier alleged in a viral social media video that a man forcibly entered her apartment in the Ogijo area of Ogun State on Sunday and sexually assaulted her.

The allegation sparked widespread outrage online, with many calling for prompt justice and stronger protection for survivors of sexual violence.
