The Bayelsa State Government has approved the appointment of 18 new Permanent Secretaries into the state civil service.
The approval was granted by Governor Douye Diri as part of efforts to strengthen the administrative system of government and improve service delivery across ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of government.
In a statement issued by the chairman of the Bayelsa State Civil Service Commission, Mr. Buruboyefe Perekiye John, he described the appointments as a move to enhance efficiency and boost performance within the civil service.
The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries were Awana Raymond; Egbuson Pere Amanda; Ogregade Ileimokumo; Ketebu Josephine Thompson; Burutolu Obalakumo Samuel; Bomotei Zachaeus Anne; Dagogo Edmundson; Enuma Charles, and Salbot A. Owil.
Others were Dr. Stow Yerinbuluemi Jones; Efeke Pereyi; Doyowei Edward Pulotua; Toloko Sylvester E.; Ede-Alakere Goodluck Tarila; Torutein Ovienadu; Ogbara Fanmene Faith; Vincent Jonathan E., and Engr. Cole Otonye James.
According to Buruboyefe, details of the swearing-in ceremony would be announced later.
He congratulated the new Permanent Secretaries and urged them to justify the confidence placed in them by contributing positively to the growth and development of the state civil service.
