President, Council for the Regulation of Engineering In Nigeria (COREN) said the award was in recognition of Governor Sule’s contributions to the promotion of technical education including manpower training of craftsmen.

Meanwhile, Governor Sule has expressed concerned over the dearth of technical schools in the country even as he called for total overhaul of technical schools.

Speaking at the 27th annual general meeting of the National association of Engineering craftsmen with the theme “The role of Nigeria craftsmen in Engineering and Sustaining Engineering Standards and Ethics” the governor challenged government at state and federal levels to take steps to enhance technical education in Nigeria.

Sule who is an old student of Bukuru Technical School (BuTech) recalled his visit to the school where he was shocked to notice that most of the workshops are no longer functional.

COREN President, Ali Rabiu who spoke through Plateau state Head of Service, Engineer Sunday Hyat, lauded the Nasarawa state governor for his uncommon commitment to the council for craftsmanship development.

He urged members of the council to emulate Governor Sule who has taken drastic measures to equip technical schools in the state as he beat drum for the second term bid of Engineer Sule.
