The Bank Directors Association of Nigeria (BDAN) has appointed Dr Oluwayemisi Olorunshola as chairman of its board of directors following the retirement of Mustafa Chike-Obi, who completed his tenure.

Dr Olorunshola, currently the chairman of the Board of Wema Bank Plc, brings over 25 years of experience in supply chain management, leadership, and corporate governance.

BDAN CEO Adebukola Orenuga said Olorunshola’s leadership and commitment to the association’s vision make her well-suited for the role. “We are confident that under her leadership, BDAN will advance its mandate of representing and promoting the interests of bank directors and banks in Nigeria,” Orenuga said.

Dr Olorunshola holds a B.Sc. in Education & Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, an MBA from the University of Liverpool, UK, and a Doctor of Business Administration from Walden University, USA. She has extensive experience in business planning, procurement, logistics, and international operations.

She is also a published author on small business sustainability strategies and holds fellowships and professional memberships, including with the International Institute for African Scholars and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
