inDrive Expands Platinum Driver Programme With Healthcare Access For Drivers

Global mobility platform inDrive has expanded its Platinum Driver Programme in Nigeria through a partnership with Nigerian health technology company Heala to provide affordable telemedicine services for drivers and their families.

The new initiative enables top-performing drivers on the platform to access healthcare consultations directly through the inDrive mobile application, reinforcing the company’s commitment to driver welfare and support.

The Platinum Driver Programme, introduced in 2025, recognises highly rated drivers who consistently maintain strong service standards on the platform. According to the company, these drivers collectively account for more than 70 per cent of the service quality delivered on inDrive.

Since its launch, the programme has rewarded more than 3,000 drivers with prizes valued at over N1.2 billion, as part of the company’s effort to build a more sustainable ecosystem for drivers beyond ride earnings.

With the new partnership, eligible Platinum drivers can now subscribe to healthcare plans through the inDrive app, allowing them to consult licensed doctors remotely without interrupting their work schedules.

Ride-hailing drivers typically spend long hours navigating busy urban environments, making it difficult to access healthcare services during regular hospital hours. Many drivers also operate as independent contractors and therefore lack employer-provided benefits such as health insurance.

The country representative for inDrive Nigeria, Oladimeji Timothy, said the expansion of the programme reflects the company’s commitment to supporting drivers beyond financial incentives.

He said the partnership with Heala would enable the company to strengthen driver wellbeing while recognising those who consistently deliver quality service on the platform.

The chief executive of officer of Heala, Anderson Oriahi, said the collaboration demonstrates how technology can make healthcare more accessible to professionals with demanding schedules.
